Adam Clark

Adam Clark, as Principal and founder of Rail Systems Engineers, has extensive experience in the Australian and South East Asian rail sectors. His knowledge, capability and experience has been honed as project manager or technical lead in over 100 high profile or technically challenging systems deployment projects. Adam’s expertise includes systems engineering, hardware engineering and systems integration for communications, telemetry and train control systems.In his previous role as National Systems Engineering Manager, Adam had functional reporting responsibility for a combined systems engineering and signal engineering capability of 200 engineers.

Sean Clark

Sean Clark, as a Senior Consultant for Rail Systems Engineers, utilises his experience and capability gained by delivering railway systems for over 20 years. His experience in the Australian, New Zealand and South East Asian sectors has honed his project engineering, design, testing and commissioning in many high profile and technically challenging systems deployment projects. Sean’s expertise includes systems engineering, hardware and software engineering and systems integration for communications, telemetry and train control systems. In his previous roles, Sean has also had functional management responsibility for a systems engineering capability of 15 engineers.

VIDA Signalling Strategy Taskforce

May 2022 - current

Established the Project Portfolio Management Office, to manage and support the delivery of Signalling and Train Control works being undertaken by key vendors across Victoria’s Big Build. Key elements of the PPMO include management of critical technology framework contracts, manages conflicts that could impede delivery of the pipeline of works, and managing interdependent risks between technology works being undertaken by overlapping Alliance project works.

Regional Rail Link

Apr 2013 - May 2015

Led Systems Engineering, Systems Assurance, Interface Management and Project Completions for the Regional Rail Link Rail Systems Alliance, delivering train control and systems across the project separating regional and metropolitan rail services. Implemented INCOSE systems engineering processes, EN50126 RAMS compliance, verification and validation procedures, and established Project Control and Change Control Boards to coordinate across six geographic work packages.

Metro Tunnel Project - Rail Systems Alliance

Jul 2019 - Dec 2021

Led the Engineering and Design organisation within the Rail Systems Alliance for the Metro Tunnel Project, managing $130m in engineering costs and 180+ technical professionals across signalling, communications, and control systems. Served as Interface and Integration Lead, managing technical and commercial interactions between RSA, RIA, CYP, V/Line and Level Crossing Removal Projects.

Caulfield to Dandenong Project

Feb 2016 - Jun 2019

Managed signalling delivery for the Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project, overseeing $300m in design, construction, and commissioning across signalling, train control, communications, OCS, and HV power systems. Developed scope and managed tenders for the Signalling Subcontractor ($80m), interim train control ($3m), and Train Control and Monitoring System ($13m) contracts.
